Droid X Email Setup

To add Corporate Sync / Exchange accounts to a Droid X , Droid RAZR, RAZR MAXX (or similar):

1. From a Home screen, select the App menu (located in the lower right).

2. Select My Accounts.

Note If the application icon is missing, select App menu filter (located at the top) then select All apps

3. Select Add account.

4. Tap on Corporate Sync:

5. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields then select Next:

Here is information to help you fill in those fields required to setup an Exchange Account on your phone:

  • Your full email address (e.g. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)),
  • Password: Enter your password.
  • Domain : messagedisk
  • Username:
      • Your username is listed under "Outlook HTTP Login" in the Welcome E-mail.  If you cannot locate that, it is also simply the first 20 characters of your full email address
      • If your email address is LESS than 20 characters, than it is the full email address.
      • Replace the "@" sign with  an "_"  when entering your full email address.  So ".(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)"  would enter "j.appleseed_myseeds." (Including that period at the end) as his USERNAME.
      • Enter your full email address preceded by a backslash. IE: \j.appleseed_myseeds.
        • TIP: Please note that some phones do not require the backslash.

TIP: If your phone uses the HTC Sense user interface for Android, Domain and Username are two separate fields. The Domain field should be empty. Enter your full email address in the Username field.

TIP: If your device still doesn't accept the Domain\Username combination, try entering messagedisk\ (up to 20 characters on the username)

After filling in the fields with the account information, Hit NEXT.

6. If presented with the screen saying "Could not auto-detect server.  Please enter the server name manually",  select Ok.

 7.  If presented with the screen saying "Enter server address", enter the appropriate server information (below) into the Server field then select Next.

  • Server:
Note Use secure connection should be enabled.  It is "enabled" when a green indicator is present.

Tap on Next to submit settings. Handset will check with server and verify if successful.

8. Click Done to complete the setup.

Your phone will now start to sync you Email, Calendar, and Contacts to your phone.

Note: The initial sync may take a while depending on the amount of data already in your Exchange account
